The 24 year old, social media influencer, Jake Paul, fought against the 39 year old, six time UFC champion, Tyron Woodly, and won due to a split decision. The scores recorded by the judges were 78-74 (Paul), 77-75 (Paul), 77-75 (Woodly). Jake Paul dominated Tyron Woodly 71-52 on total punches and 36-11 on jabs. However, Woodly came back and led 41-35 on powerful punches. Paul said, “This was a tougher fight than I expected. My legs felt weird from the locker room. I don’t know what to say. He put up a good fight and came in shape. I have nothing but respect for him…” The match was more of a way for the fighters to showcase their strengths, despite the vast distinction in boxing experience. Woodly challenged Paul to a rematch, but Paul was initially against it. Paul claimed, “Of course, he wants the payday,” saying that Woodly just wants to make money off the hypothetical rematch. Before the match, the two fighters had joked around saying the loser would get either an “I love Jake Paul” or a “I love Tyron Woodly” tattoo.
