Britney Spears is an American singer and songwriter that has produced multiple songs that we know and love, such as the world-famous singles “Hit Me Baby One More Time” and “Toxic” that hit the charts in the early 2000s. She has made a name for herself in the music industry and is known worldwide. However, her father, James Parnell Spears, has had legal conservatorship of his daughter since 2008. A conservationship is a legal status to witch a court appoints a person to mange an incapitaded or incompetent or miniors finatial affairs. In addition, people have made their own opinions and controversy regarding this subject and whether or not Britney Spears or her father should have the right to her finances.

Fans have started this movement to help Britney have the courage to speak out against her father and get the conservation agreement removed. Her father tells the public he believes that his daughter has mental health problems and cannot take care of herself and her finances. Her mental breakdown in 2008 brought attention to this issue, and her father was able, by law, to have conservatorship over his daughter.

This was a way of taking advantage of his daughter’s success and her finances. This whole scandal has brought questions to the media, and the fans have gone crazy over this fact. Netflix has now released a show called Britney vs Spears, which explains the drama in one show.

Britney Spears has demanded that her rights be given back to her, since she feels like she is being taken advantage of. Since 2008, James Parnell Spears has claimed that Britney is crazy, psychotic, and should get help with her finances and her mental health. Britney, on the other hand, feels like her father has taken advantage of her situation (her mental breakdown in 2008) to excuse the fact of having conservatorship over her. Britney has said, “I feel like the conservatorship has become an oppressive and controlling tool against me.” In August of 2021, Britney’s father planned to step down from the conservatorship. This past September of this year, at the courthouse in Los Angeles, the judge removed the rights that James had over his daughter.

Britney Spears will finally have the rights that she has not been able to have due to the conservatorship.
