Starbuck’s Holiday Drinks

Every year around the holidays, Starbucks introduces its yearly line of holiday flavors. This year there are six flavors: Peppermint mocha, Iced Sugar Cookie Almond Milk latte, Chestnut Praline Latte, Irish Cream Cold Brew, Caramel Brulee Latte, and Toasted White Chocolate Mocha. Along with these annual holiday flavors, Starbucks also releases new holiday-themed cups, both disposable cups, and reusable cups sold separately.

1. The Peppermint Mocha tastes like mint chocolate chip ice cream or an andes mint. It’s sweet but not an overwhelming type of sweet, the mint flavor balances it out. I would recommend this to anyone who is a fan of mochas, however, if you aren’t big on mint flavors I wouldn’t get this because the mint “undertone” is very strong.

2. The Iced Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte is by far the most popular this year. The drink was very popular on the app tik tok when it was first released. This was my personal favorite. The first sip immediately reminded me of an iced caramel macchiato along with, of course, a sugar cookie. This drink is served with sprinkles on top.

3. The Irish Cream Cold Brew is my least favorite drink of the lineup. It’s a mouthful of sugar and burns your throat from the excessive sweetness/creamer. If you’ve ever had Universal Studio’s HP World butterbeer, it tastes like butterbeer gone wrong. I may have just had a bad experience due to my drink being made wrong however I would not get this drink again nor recommend it. This drink is served with sweet cream cold foam and a little cocoa powder on the foam.

4. The Chestnut Praline Latte tastes like Bath and Body Work’s “Marshmallow Fireside” candle as a drink. I wouldn’t say this is necessarily a bad thing to me, considering that’s my favorite scent. It didn’t taste like what it sounded like at all, but it was an unexpectedly good drink regardless of this.

5. The Toasted White Chocolate mocha was a fairly good drink however I’d stick to my order of the normal white chocolate mocha that’s sold year-round. If you’re a fan of white chocolate Kit-Kats, this drink would be a safe option for you. That’s the first thought that came to my mind when I tried it.

6. The last drink of the holiday collection is the Caramel Brulee Latte. I expected better as someone who loves caramel, It wasn’t bad but also not my favorite. It definitely didn’t live up to the expectations I had for it. The caramel was very strong, but not in a pleasant way, there was also some cinnamon flavoring in there which made it slightly better. The drink is served with whipped cream and caramel brulee topping.

For the most part, this year’s drinks were good, however, I think they should’ve kept some of their old holiday drinks rather than replacing them with new ones that are nowhere near as good, such as keeping the eggnog latte rather than introducing the Irish cream cold brew. Other than this, the rest of the drinks were perfect for the holiday season and I would definitely try them again.
