Mission Statement & Principles

The Lanier Times’ Mission Statement: 

The mission of The Lanier Times is to unite Lanier High School and the Sugar Hill community by keeping them informed about relevant issues and events in society, Gwinnett County, and Lanier High School through the publication and distribution of easily accessible news that is both accurate and entertaining.

The Lanier Times’ Principles: 

  1. The Lanier Times will publish honest and verifiable information.
  2. The Lanier Times will seek to report on all clubs and athletics equally.
  3. The Lanier Times will only publish original content.
  4. The Lanier Times will respect all opinions. Pieces will remain unbiased unless they are opinion pieces.
  5. Any form of racism, hate speech, or discrimination is strictly prohibited and will not be distributed at The Lanier Times
  6. The Lanier Times will be user friendly to efficiently spread information.
  7. Opinions represented in the Opinions section of The Lanier Times do not reflect the opinions of the whole publication
  8. The Lanier Times will not post information that is based upon gossip or rumors about students and/or faculty at our school and in our community.
  9. Inappropriate language will be prohibited in any published pieces of The Lanier Times.
  10. The Lanier Times’ pieces will be published with the intention to better our school and community as well as encourage our students.
